I first discovered the love of portraiture during my teenage years and went on to complete my Honours degree in Fine Art at Aberystwyth School of Art, specialising in Drawing and Etching. After finishing my formal training, I began taking commissions in 2004. In the last 11 years, I have taken time out to raise my two children in rural mid-Wales. I have enjoyed sketching them and capturing their changing characters and expressions as they have grown and developed and am now relishing taking on commissions again.
Faces are enthralling and endlessly intriguing and it is always a delight to explore a new one, whether human or animal, and to set about creating a portrait.
I recently won the Ailsa Owen memorial Prize at MOMA Cymru.
